JMM had that look but he regained his legs pretty well. If the legs are gone then the ref would have stopped it. However JMM came back for a draw.

After the 3rd KD and having that look in his face, any ref today would have been all over him to stay down and wave off the fight.
We wouldn't have known that he could regain his footing and outbox Manny for the majority of the remaining rounds.

Pac ran because he was scared of Rios and tried to duck him. Why else would Team Pac have requested OSDT? Rios is a brave warrior of the people though, so he called the bluff on Pacman's cowardly attempt at ducking.

Rios tried for 2 rounds and eventually hit a milestone where he threw the lowest punch output of his career. Rios went into survival mode after talking all that trash.
