I agree that he should drop back down to 122. I'd like to see Abner Mares vs. Carl Frampton and Leo Santa Cruz vs. Scott Quigg. Winners face each other and losers face each other. Mares can always move back up to 126 later.

      Maybe this means Mares/Ghonzalez will be the semi main on floyd's May 3rd fight. I wouldn't mind a floyd/maidana, mares/johnny, broner/TBD card.

Yea that would be great. I wan't to see Frampton fight, I heard he's real good, didn't he knock out Kiko Martinez?

He's been getting KO'd? Besides his last fight (which he just got caught) who else has he been getting KO'd by? As for him getting hurt in training. ***** happens. You can get a cut during sparring, Sprain your ankle during a morning jog, or in his case hurt a rib. It's part of the game. You saying he isn't built for this (boxing) was one of the most ridiculious comments I've ever read here. His credentials speak for itself. Maybe if you said that 126 isn't for him, would be more acceptable, even though I'd still disagree.

Starting to break down? Are you serious?
He suffered one loss. Prior to that he looked great out boxing PDL. He got caught by a heavy puncher, it happens in boxing sometimes a fighter loses. Or at least fighters not trying like hell to protect their 0's

Yeah, 9th round T.K.O. win. Frampton has a pretty good punch and can take a good punch too. I think Frampton vs. Mares would be a war. Two tough guys.

Or he ran into a bigger guy and can just move back down if necessary. Saying he's breaking down because of one shocking loss is premature.

GBP should give us on Floyd v Maidana undercard:

                  Abner Mares v Jhonny Gonzalez
Leo Santa Cruz v Gary Russell Jr.
Danny Garcia v Amir Khan II

                  I'll drop $70.00 for that!

                    or 122.........never fought a legit 122lber....

and his record at 118 is vastly overrated....

Abner Mares is a great warrior and I wish him a speedy recovery back to 100%.
