    The Boxing Girls of Kabul

Has anyone else seen this documentary? I just finished watching it on Netflix. It is about a female afganistan boxing teams attempt at the 2012 olympics. I know that it is very rough and tough for people in the country but the film left me feeling very saddened for how women are treated and looked upon, but it also reminded me just how fortunate I am for growing up in the states. As for the boxing story it is very touching and an inside look at the lives of 3 of the girls going against the risk of themselves and their families being arrested or killed to become fighters and go to the Olympics. i reccommend any fight fan to check it out.

I haven't seen it but they are winners just for having the courage to fight against the theocracy in that country. Religion deserves to be ****ed hard, at every corner, in every aspect of life.

Yes they are courageous. Even the coach was receiving threats. They train pretty rugged and don't even have a ring to train in.

I don't know why it's so sad? Women face epidemic levels of violence in the US too. 40% of American women have been physically abused in their partnerships. Most fathers wouldn't be happy about their daughters taking into a professional sport while their older instead of an education.

It would also be nice if the people funding these fundamentlists (US/UK) would given a ****t or shown so much outrage when they funded these people in the 80s or right now in Syria, or better yet do ****t for women where they fair far worse like in CAR or South Africa
