I thought he clearly lost to Brandon Gonzales.

His career appears to be headed downwards and it's disappointing because he's only 25.

He definitely did. He was lucky just to get a draw. This guy was very promising just a year ago. I remember when there were rumors of him fighting Golo. Thank god he didn't, he would've officially had an L already.

Kharma, this fight shouldn't have been on HBO in the first place. Oosthuizen looked terrible in his last fight and the Canadian has never fought on TV and fighting for a WBC belt that they paid for.

Alvarez is just gonna have to settle for some journeyman or fringe contender this close to fight date - bit of a bummer for him cos I expect he woulda beat Tommy Gun in the shape he's been in his last few outings.
He should've taken the Froch fight when it was offered to him. We would have been spared Yusuf Mack.

Couple of undefeated prospect/contenders on an undercard, nothing wrong with that matchup. I mean if Shumenov vs bum can be televised, why not this better matchup?

              very strange.

i wonder if he's a drug user or something. that's what immediately sprang to mind when i heard the rhetoric from his former promotor.

Brandon mos def won that fight....he's a good kid. He has a fan friendly style, hopefully hbo can put him on an undercard or something. But they probably wont as i think they expectd thomas to run thru him

I am surprised and disappointed but I hope Tommy now moves to the States as I am originally from South Africa and Boxing gyms and trainers are not up to the standard of the States so I hope Tommy moves there and tries to get Roach who will get the best out of him. As a professional sportsman you should be disciplined enough to lead the correct life and stay focused obviously Tommy did not do this, Rodney Berman (Golden Gloves South Africa) does not really do enough for his fighters he keeps them inactive for way to Long since Van Heerden beat Matthew Hatton his done nothing his career will fade unless he leaves the shores and that is what Tommy has to do now. This is Tommy's last chance I hope he makes the right decision.
