    Terence Crawford

Why is this guy not getting any exposure? I've only seen 4 or 5 of his fights, but he looks a special talent. He's 26 now, so he's not a kid anymore. I must say Top Rank aren't doing a very good job of promoting him tbh. Prescott is the biggest name on his resume, although he's due to fight Burns next, so if he wins that, which I think he will, that'll be his best win to date.

He's a big lightweight, so he's almost certainly gonna move up to 140 and potentially 147 in the future, that will no doubt give him more exposure considering they're currently the most exciting/packed weight classes.

What are your thoughts on Crawford in general?

some of his fights are extremely boring. it's not like he can't punch, either.

if you want to be a true star you need to have exciting fights, or an exciting persona. either that, or a built in local fanbase.

crawford doens't look like he has that.
he can punch, he can box, and his chin looks good. he's a good figther.

being a good fighter, and being a star are totally different animals. crawford will almost surely never be a star.

I've watched him 2-3 times, he looks very complete. The Burns fight will tell us more about him. I don't think he has star potential though, I think he'll be a bit of a Bradley in terms of casual fan perception.

i agree when you say that crawford will never be a star. he'd have to change how he fights.

bradley made plenty of money, fought pacquiao, and beat marquez. he may even fight mayweather down the road if he can get out of his TR deal cleanly. i'd be happy as a clam if i were crawford, and that's how my career turned out.

Do you guys know how long he's got left on his TR contract? I think GBP would do a much better job with him, plus most fighters who could pose a threat to him in the future at 140/147 are with GBP.

I agree that he's not a very interesting character, but his talent alone should be enough for him to get a decent amount of recognition.

He won't be a star but he's very skilled. I don't recall seeing a fighter so fluid in changing stances often and looking comfortable doing so.

a promoter could always do a better job, but it's not nearly as horrific as you're making it sound...then again you're clearly pro-golden boy, anti-top rank, so I get it. misleading username

he got a breakout fight in Prescott back in March of 2013, then got a showcase bout on the Mikey Garcia-Lopez undercard and then he got another one on the Cotto-Rodriguez undercard. All fights on HBO. 3 bouts in 2013 (4 in one year, appeared on Lara-Martirosyan undercard, untelevised I think)...again not nearly as bad as you're making it sound. I like Crawford, clear potential, but when he's given a showcase bout he needs to do more than what he did versus Klimov. Nonetheless, Top Rank somehow managed to get him a fight with Burns in a main event, who I didn't think would agree (remember Broner? was Golden Boy doing a bad job cause they couldn't get that fight?)

and he's not a big lightweight, no need to rush him to 147, besides bigger paydays.

Crawford has a "slick" boxing first style. He's not terribly exciting, though I do think he will go on to be the best fighter at LW. He will never become a star though, unless he were to do what Floyd did, end up fighting a big name and change his persona.

                    Don't be ridiculous, I'm not pro-GBP and anti-TR or vice-versa.

I think a fighter of his talent should be getting more exposure, he's 26 now. I mean look at D.Garcia, Thurman etc, they're younger and have had more exposure, big fights etc. I know circumstances are different, but you get my point.

And I never said he should be rushed up 147, I said he could potentially fight at that weight in the future. He's a big lightweight.
