How would khan with headgear fair?

I actually think Khan won that amateur fight, it was against Craig Watson I believe...

But with headgear I think he would still be visibly hurt whenever he got tagged good.

Headgear in my opinion doesn't offer that much protection and I am even pretty sure that the AIBA a while back confirmed that some international male amateur bouts would be fought without it.
