Is Stiverne vs Arreola A Mismatch?

Arreola was soundly beaten in the last fight and dominated in many rounds. Could the rematch be considered a mismatch due to Stiverne's already proven superiority?

    I consider it a mismatch

but Areeola is one of those guys where people say "oh yeah but if he lost 20lbs he'd be way better"

I don't belive so, arreola is a fatty, has always been a fatty and is over 30 years old

dropping heaps of weight now ain't going to help him, all that will happen is he'll lose power and punch resistance.

been saying this since before the vitali fight

It's not a mismatch. Arreola was injured early in the first fight.

I think Chris will win this time.

We'll see how much of a mismatch it will be when Arreola knocks Stiverne out. Arreola isn't the most disciplined of fighters, he has always had problems staying focused during training camp (from nutrition to workout routines). He said, and holding him to his word, that he took things very seriously for his last fight and the results showed. We saw a leaner, stronger and better prepared Arreola.

If he does continue his good habits like I am positive he will, he should stop Stiverne. The hunger (for the sport that is) seems to be there again and he wants a title very bad, I expect him not to let this opportunity go after working so hard to earn it in his last fight.

stiverne is going to knock arreola out this time.he beat him easily last time.he is much more skilled than arreola.chris is just a nightmare for journeymen, but not for skilled fighters.all he does is throw wild punches

Mismatch, no. I think they are similarly skilled fighters with similar power but Stiverne is a calmer, more focused and sound boxer. Arreola can tend to get frustrated and just rush in and get hit too many times. When he is in shape he is more of a threat but really you can't judge that on last performance v Seth Mitchell...that guy can't take a punch and is not a natural boxer, was a hype job and is not a big win really.

Although you have to consider Arreola had his nose broken by Stiverne which affected his breathing and pacing himself in the fight, I still think Stiverne has Arreola's number, the fight may be closer this time but I still see Stiverne winning, although bearing in mind he has been inactive for a long time, and if Arreola is focused and in shape then he has a fair chance of getting the W as well.

No i dont think its a mismatch..

The first fight was very good, and aerrola was even in command of the fight, till he took his "eye of the ball" when backing stiverne into the ropes with a few seconds left in the 2nd or 3rd,, Stiverne caught him with a fight changing punch that floored Chris and broke his nose...

Will be interesting to see what happens if aerrola can avoid another broken nose

Would the drill instructor in the movie Full Metal Jacket call Arreola a Disgusting Fat Body as he call Private Gomer Pyle

He probably would. Then eventually Arreola would go mental just like Pyle, but he'd kill the drill instructor with punches instead of bullets.

On topic, Stiverne isn't that good. Arreola was winning the fight before the broken nose. He was fighting at half his normal pace after that, and Stiverne couldn't even finish him off.

Mike Perez would make dog meat out of both Arreola and Stiverne.
