Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Trainer: Broner's Past Competition Lackluster

Abel Sanchez, trainer of WBA/IBO middleweight king Gennady Golovkin, says Adrien Broner's past competition was lackluster and didn't properly prepare him for a very tough opponent like Marcos Maidana. Last month Maidana (35-3, 31KOs) scored an upset twelve round unanimous decision over Broner (27-1, 22KOs) to capture the WBA welterweight crown. Broner, a former three division champion, was dropped twice and took punishment in the loss.

All that clever match making caught up to him. He should seriously go to 135lbs where he still holds a title and build up from there cuz he is big at that weight and his power has more of an impact. They should keep'em away from Richard Abril though.

Yeah Broner needs to move back down and rebuild. Not only his approach to fighting but his image to the fans too. If he carries on his 'baby brother Floyd' act, fans will get sick of him pretty soon now we all know he really isn't.

I think he can rebuild and become bigger name in a more legitimate way, but who knows...

Ol' Abel makes a good observation.

Now, what's he going to say should the same happen to his fighter?

It seems Golovkin's trainer is becoming the foremost authority on boxing analysis. He might be the new Beristain or Hunter or Roach or Garcia....who knows, he could even give Dwyer insider tips and fortune-teller predictions.

If AB's comp is "lackluster", what is GGG's? The only word I could think of is pisspoorsorryasspatheticfu.ckinbull****.
