I've definitely heard racist/stereotypical comments towards asians as "rice eaters," "cat and dog eaters," etc. That has as long a history, if not much longer, as black people and fried chicken references. The truth is, they're only negative if meant to be negative. The consumption of food is neutral.
So your support is something that some golfer said about a 1/2 black golfer? That was just a putrid example. Like I said, any comment like this could be negative and hurtful if intended that way. Floyd intended it to be hurtful. Everyone keeps defending the sushi comment because it's the easiest to defend. Please defend the "yellow chump" in reference to floyd's perception of Manny's skin color. Who even says that? Being called "yellow" is much more offensive than being called "black." Also, please try and justify the implication that Manny consumes cats and dogs, or has some sort of inclination or preference for those types of cuisine.
