All Floyd and company are doing now is calculating the formula to get the most PPV buys for the least amount of risks. Everyone knows this and Floyd even admits to it but Floyd fans still try to defend the cherry picks, which by now is amazing how they pretend that it's anything but a cherry picked opponent.

They will sell it by saying "This guy is ranked ...." or "at least Floyd will fight someone respectable in September then I'm OK with this fight"

Let's face it, if Arum really wanted the fight he would be busy forcing a purse bid since Pac was named the #1 contender to Floyd's title.
IF he wanted the fight there would be no downside. He and HBO would surely be able to outbid Showtime/Golden Boy for the fight or the most likely scenario is that Floyd drops the title rather than be dictated to and Arum can say Mayweather is ducking and put Pac in a position to pick up the title.
