Comments Thread For: Mayweather-Khan Draws Near, Maidana in The Dark

Amir Khan (28-3, 19KOs) is appearing to be, as the days go by, the most likely candidate to face WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs) on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

On Monday, Khan announced that he signed his portion of the contract for a fight with Mayweather.

The other frontrunner to face Mayweather is WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (35-3, 31KOs). Maidana's team made a statement to the Argentine press that Mayweather's team have never contracted them to discuss a fight - at least not yet.

Maidana is confident it will be him. Khan is all smoke and mirrors.

I don't know what to believe when it comes to the Mayweather negotiations. For all we know, Danny Garcia could be fighting him in May lol

when he says, the people know what kind of fight they want, a fight between champions. That's how I take it.

I think it will be between Paulie Malignaggi or Paul Spadafora.

Khan definitely doesn't deserve this fight but it will be entertaining while it lasts. Once Mayweather catches Khan on that brittle chin of his, we'll definitely be seeing Amir's baby fawn legs....
