Stevenson isn't under contract with either. Showtime won a bid for a one fight deal and it's assumed he'll sign with them next.
From what I'm hearing though, no way he fights Kovalev now... thanks a lot Fonfara

    Re-Read PBP

They'd love to have that fight, that's why they're trying so hard to bring him over

he wouldn't have to. kovalev's shots would KO him long before the 12th round.

Good fight IMO and props to Fonfara!!!!!
Which is sad, but he's hated so much, that will be over looked.

        • Adonis weathered a storm. We were shouting at the TV "clinch, baby".

I had him winning 9-3 so easily enough. The KD a fatigue issue. Still, fought like a champion. Polish dude showed plenty of heart so props go out.

          • This was a really good fight. I thought Adonis would take him out before the last bell rang but Fanfara was surprisingly tough.

Adonis was a little tired by the 12th but still kept Fanfara at arms length (points wise) during most of the fight. The knockdown of Stevenson was a thing of beauty great combo. They both showed their heart tonight.

Wouldn't mind seeing a Hopkins match. The only problem is Stevenson can punch and can catch Bernard who really hasn't fought a heavy handed fighter since Dawson.

                • Knew dan_cov would be on here defending Stevenson.

Ask Darnell Boone who would win.

KOD: Who is the hardest puncher that you have fought?

DB: The hardest puncher was [Sergey] Kovalev. He knows exactly how to use his height and leverage with punches. He keeps you on the outside, away from getting on the inside on him. He fights tall.

KOD: As we already touched on, you fought both Sergey Kovalev and Adonis Stevenson. Fight fans have begun clamoring for that explosive showdown at 175. If it happens, who do you foresee as the winner, and how?

DB: Kovalev, because he’s the more sound boxer. Both of them are strong and it’s going to be whoever lands the shot first, but I would go with Kovalev on that. They both have what it takes to knock each other out. Both of them are strong, but the thing with Adonis is that he does the same thing in each fight. Paw with the jab, paw with the jab, paw with the jab, left. He never really mixes it up. With Kovalev, he’s throwing combinations, he’s moving, and punching off angles.

I meant more capable of landing a KO blow than say Jean Pascal. It could be argued that Cloud has some power but he couldn't land with Stevenson's accuracy.

Anyway, I'd watch Stevenson and Hopkins go at it.
