See my picture? When I met him as he was walking thru Cancun airport he took the time to take a couple photos with me and shook my hand. Maybe he just doesnt like Martinez for whatever reason. Cotto is quiet but doesnt seem like a ****.

I know Miguel Cotto has had a reputation for being somewhat cold and distant, not entirely fan friendly, and comes off as "superior" to others at times in terms of his personality. But here's my story:
I went to one of his fights years back at one of the big hotels in Vegas and after the fight was over and the place began to clear out, my two friends and I found ourselves half-drunkenly trying to get out of the arena and somehow walked through a set of double doors we weren't supposed to, right into the back hallway and found ourselves face-to-face with Miguel Cotto, most of his entourage, and Bob Arum standing about 25 feet away walking in our direction to exit backstage.
Instead of being beaten to a bloody pulp by security guards, I have a framed and matted photo taken on a piece of **** disposable camera, BY Bob Arum, of Miguel Cotto and I standing next to each other with our fists up, he's wearing the belt, and is all marked up after just having fought a little while earlier. Now, did he smile at me and ask me about my family, pat me on the back and act like he loved being social? Not exactly. But he politely accepted my compliment and took a picture. Arum, on the other hand, was a ****ing G and was super duper nice for the one minute I was around him. I wanted to stay and talk to Arum after meeting him. Cotto was Cotto. Professional but cool. I think you'd really have to get to know the guy to get anything "friendly" out of him, most likely.

Both Cotto and Martinez are good friends with the lead singer of the band Calle 13, and both are River Plate Club fanatics. You'd think they'd be friends with each other.

Not surprised by this. Cotto is the same guy who runs out if the ring after a loss without interviewing. Dude is Broner without the instagram.

That's not true!
He left the Margarito fight giving due the physical condition he was in. He had to rush to the hospital after getting geat up by bricks.
He stood there for the Manny Pacquiao fight. Greet him. Greeter everyone from the opposite corner and recognize he lost.
Against Trout and Mayweather he simply was disgusted by the wide-open margins in the scorecards. Yes, he lost both fights but the judges made it look like he didnt belong in th ring with neither when the true both fights were competitve.

I always liked Cotto, but I can see Cotto being that way. He sometimes snaps at interviewers like,
" What?!" With a mad dog face. He beat up his trainer/uncle after the first Margarito fight. I know he ain't really about his people like Trinidad was. On the other hand, could be Martinez's attempt to sway the Mexican crowd his direction.
