Its common sense, you get more respect for giving it your all despite losing to a exceptionally skilled fighter than beating the **** out of a 100lb uncoordinated handicap guy. It's also known as putting it all on the line.

From what you just stated, where you're from they don't measure or value heart/balls; just a win however it comes because it boosts their pathetic self-esteem.
I get it you would rather have a great loss than. But that whats wrong with boxing culture no other sport says as long as you tried a loss is acceptable. I wonder do the Cowboys think the loss was acceptable because they gave it there all.

By the TS's logic, all a fighter has to do is step into the ring and fight the best and win, lose, or draw he can get a solid resume?

****. I'm 140 lbs. Put me in there with Danny Garcia. I'll lose, but my resume is about to look pretty darn good.

Only in your dreams!!!! Mayweather only had three fights at 140, but he fought better competition than Cotto fought in more than 20 fights at that weight.

In Migs defense, the Martinez fight is going to look a hell of a lot nicer(if he wins) than Floyd beating Canelo at a catchweight. Chalk one up to Cotto

Most boxers or trainers in the sport say Floyd is the best.... I'm pretty sure he gets his respect....I've never heard anyone mention Cotto is the best....not even himself.
