Russian promoter Vladimir Hryunov is planning to make another serious run to secure the promotional rights to a Wladimir Klitschko (61-3, 51KOs) fight. Klitschko is looking to defend his IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight titles against mandatory challenger Alex Leapai (30-4-3, 24KOs), likely on the tentative date of March 8th in Germany.

If the fight heads to a purse bid, Hryunov intends to bid on the fight. Klitschko and Leapai have until January 3 to reach an agreement.

If Hyrunov wins, he wants to stage the fight in Germany in Australia. For Klitschko's October fight in Russia against Alexander Povetkin, Hryunov bid a huge $23.2 million dollars to secure the promotional rights.
What does this mean? They're fighting on two continents at the same time?

Well, he did beat a 33-0 Boytsov (who only beat bums) and the rest of them were cabdrivers
Bet they're gonna use it as the selling point tho

Hryunov must be financed by the Russian government.

I keep saying this fight will land in Australia but the usual suspects say it will never happen... when will they learn boxing is a f**king business & not a sport? nobody fights for glory including the current champion... no way leapai's side will sign until the purse bid date arrives. they know full well they will get a better paycheck if someone puts in a big bid... i'm sure this Russian has been in leapai's handlers ears already...

How can it do bigger business than Germany though?
