Pablo doesn't have a granite chin, but he's a tough SOB. He gets up and battles back to victory. Quite frankly, I prefer a fighter like that. Fucking balls....

Great light heavys have been jumping up fighting heavyweights for over 100yrs. I don't see what's the big deal. Unless of course his fans are perfectly content seeing him wear out the bum of the month in 2014. Cause that's exactly what he's gonna be doing at 75.

Great light heavyweights were moving up to fight heavyweights back when heavyweights weighed far less than they do today. (That's why the cruiserweight division was born.) It's rare for a light heavy to even give a good fight to the heavyweight champion. In essence, that's what would be happening between Kovalev and Hernandez. Roy Jones Jr was able to dethrone John Ruiz, but Ruiz was a weak champion and Jones was...well, Jones.

I'd say Troy Ross again but he's gone from the landscape having not fought the whole year.

Others have done it before! Adamek, Guillermo Jones, James Toney
And Guillermo Jones started at welterweight!

Yeah, but you're talking about a progression of time with those guys. Kovalev is 30 years old. He's done growing. His move to cruiser would mean packing quite a bit of weight on a 6' frame. Can it be done? Sure. Can it be done well enough to beat the 6'4" Hernandez, who happens to be a good champion? I don't think so.

Hernandez is an underated champ, good to see he is stepping back in the ring, hopefully against a quality opponent.
