I also think Broner and Canelo got exposed this year, so in a way showtime shot its load.
Either you work for or you have relative that works for HBO or Top Rank or only have HBO to make a comment like that cause it's no-brainer that Showtime definitely had the better fights.. HBO had some good main events, but the undercards were crap & Showtime had both, good main events & undercards, some of Showtime regular cards were better than some of HBO's PPV's..

I get that people like the 3-4 fights on the same card, that Showtime is doing.

But are we really going to hand out awards for events that had the kind of crap like Judah vs malignaggi, and trout vs Lara.

Seriously, were going to praise them for this? Or how about the Hopkins fight?

I think Showtime did a great job, but there budget is right there with HBOs now. This idea that there doing more with less isn't true anymore.

And prasiing them for hand feeding GBP there entire budget, shouodnt be praised by any means.

Trout vs Lara was a very meaningful fight in the division. Two of the division's best fought each other, if it ended up being one sided or boring that's just part of the sport.

Some people thought Donaire vs Rigo was boring but that was a meaningful fight too.

Only thing HBO is holding on to is the 25% more viewers they have so they can say they have higher ratings.

HBO has the biggest stars by a long shot but that hasn't prevented Showtime from putting on the biggest fights.

It was pretty rare for fighters on Showtime to get 1 million views. This year they reached or surpassed that mark several times.

Given how they have a lot less subscribers than HBO this is a terrific accomplishment. They are punching well above their weight.
