    Meeting famous fighters

Has anyone here ever met Arturo Gatti or Mike Tyson? What were they like, and are they shorter in person than you expected?
I met Oscar De La Hoya and, to me, he only seemed to be about 5'8".

I met Holyfield in Beijing before his canceled fight with John Ruiz. I was surprised that he was actually pretty funny. Most media reports focus on either (1) his too earnest Christianity or (2) his delusional insistence that he's going to fight on and get a title. He did say those things, but he cracked me up with some smart analysis of how Don King was negotiating with the Chinese partners in the deal. (You may recall this was the fight where Ruiz came up with a phantom neck strain that everybody attributed to a dispute over who was going to "make the money appear" as Don would say).

I literally bumped into Oscar De La Hoya on the Vegas strip. I forget which New Year's it was. Me and my friends were walking in one direction and I heard some dudes yellin' the words "Hey champ" didn't really think nothin' of it, then my friend who was walking alongside me , suddenly reached his hand out across my face and in the process I incidentally bumped DLH who was on my right side so as soon as I recognized who it was I stuck my handout too to shake DLH's hand. He was with one girl(I'd rate her about a 6 she looked like a white hispanic)and several black dudes(surprisingly none of 'em were big just average size guys)So I don't know if they were bodyguards they didn't look like fighters to me either 'cause some of 'em looked like they were carrying some spare tire. I'd say DLH is somewhere between 5'9-5'll this was around the time when he was campaigning at 147lbs. He may have been wearing one of those slightly high heeled dress shoes for guys(lol)
