The president of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), Puerto Rico's Francisco 'Paco' Valcárcel, recently took a trip to Mexico and met with Juan Manuel Márquez to discuss his future. Marquez, 40-years-old, is the mandatory challenger to WBO 140-pound champion Ruslan Provodnikov.

During their discussion, Valcarcel spoke to Marquez (55-7-1, 40 KOs) about the possibility of a fifth fight with Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KOs).

What fight is Marquez going to find where he is going to make more money and people want to see more. Pacquiao should have never gave him a 4th fight. Marquez should repay the favor.

they didnt offer a 50-50 split , and if the fight happens again marquez will have to sacriface his skills again and go for the ko or else he will be robbed again...
but pac is not a man of his word, he said this was the last fight of the saga and wont respect that... arum and pac are desperate to rebuild...

I thought he was an accountant? He should know that 15m of whatever split is better than 5m with a much better split. I doubt he's made 30m career wise, and he's being offered 1/2 that for 1 fight only. And you Marquez fans are telling me it's an easy night's work. Who the fcuk passes on that?

Well yea entertainment wise every real fan knows that it will be a great match, but from the Marquez point of view n any other wise mans view knows its not worth, so why criticize Marquez why the hate lol

Why not? He begged and begged for rematches that Pac didn't have to give him. Only fair to return the favor. It's this type of attitude that gets influenced on other boxers and we don't get to see fights. Even if they were to fight only once before and a man/fans wanting a rematch.

MP gave him a 4th because in his heart he knew he didn't win the third, and actually his other victory wasn't at all decisive either. The decisive win belongs to JMM.

It's over with an exclamation point, Marquez's victory was emphatic and doesn't need to be repeated. I can understand Arum would rather go with the obvious suspense of a 5th fight, but I saw everything I needed to when I saw Pac stretched out face down like an exhausted ******* back from an all-nighter.

Arum has to understand, people are really tired of seeing Manny matched against TR fighters. The proposal of a 5th fight with Marquez should tell you everything you need to know about Manny's options.

I think most viewers don't know or give a **** about about Top Rank. They just wanna see a great fight, and nobody is as good a bet as these 2

Marquez knows that unless he KO's Pac again he will lose another decision. Pac would come into a 5th fight cautious as hell and be looking to avoid the big shot at all cost.
Pacquiao got reckless and paid the price in the 4th fight, he won't make that mistake again.

Imagine if Bradley said "I'll give Marquez a rematch after he rematches Pac"

THAT's EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING..... Boxing gave Bradley a very generous gift when they handed him Pacquiao's belt, just after Manny gave Bradley a pretty solid Boxing lesson, and the world of Boxing agreed. But I think Bradley could really pay one back to Pacquiao here while Marquez on his knees holding on to Bradley's leg for a rematch... Bradley doesn't need to fight Marquez again (you know Floyd wouldn't extend a rematch)... Bradley should hold a press conference and state the following:

[I]"I recognize Marquez feels the judges did him yet another injustice for his loss to me, and I dont' see it that way; I clearly won the fight. But I will propose this. Manny Pacquiao extended four fights to Marquez, and Marquez is unwilling to extend ONE fight back to Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao wants a rematch with me as well. Juan Manuel Marquez, extend a rematch to Manny Pacquiao, and I will immediately extend a rematch to the WINNER of that fight".

If that doesn't work for Marquez, then retire and go away; you won't be missed. I know Pacquiao would take that offer in a heartbeat. And Bradley would have no problem fighting the winner for a HUGE payday holding all the cards. The problem is with Marquez... in his deepest heart, he knows he got lucky with that one punch KO, and he can't come close to winning a 5th fight with Manny. And he can't live with that ending. If so, then why not pull $15M fighting Pacquiao once more, and potentially another $10M-$12M in another fight with Bradley (which should be Marquez' thinking if he thinks he can beat Manny), and there's your two fights for 2014, and then retire like you plan. If I'm Bradley I put that one on Marquez in a heartbeat. We'll see how bad he wants a rematch with Bradley. He'll either man up and take that on, or leave and shut up.
