Clev is a BUM, always was, always will be.
Got fed Cans until he fought Kovalev.

Poor Clev fights Makabu in order to get an interim WBA belt that would allow him to fight Guillermo Jones -- the 41 years old champ...

Clev thinks that if he literally survived Kovalev, he would get a better chance against the Congolese quiet monster... But Clev is far from being as strong as Eric Fields -- whom Makabu KOd in 5.

Cleverly is good fun to watch but really was the epitome of a Frank Warren "champion". Did nothing to justify having a belt.

          Totally Agree!

He was gifted the WBO Belt, then the first Real World Class opponent he faced, he got KO'd.

Wasn't Cleverly really considering retiring after Kovalev , if so this is basically a cash-out take the largest sum of money available at the time bcse he doesn't want to build himself up with a few fights to get used to the weight regain confidence.

Yes, He's doing what a lot of other guys have done in and around the Cruiserweight Limit.
Move up, fight a bunch of nobody's, get paid then retire with 30 Wins and 2 Losses.

It's strange to say the least.

His best win is probably Murat, but his best defence has to be Bellew.

Cleverly has guts but thats about it hes very short on the talent side. He should honestly retire hes over achieved for his caliber. British, Commonwealth, European, World titles. A Math degree to move on after boxing and a model girlfriend i mean dude has it all no point taking brain damage.

If he really wanted to cash out Bellew rematch was perfect both guys coming off of title match losses
