Sounds like a double standard to me. In reality, no world class boxer should admit he'd lose to another fighter anyway, especially if they're both around the same weight class. I think the main reason Provodnikov won't fight Pacquaio is because of the fact that they both have the same trainer and are stablemates.

He's actually been offered $10m to fight Pacquiao, Arum has an option on him to promote his next fight.

Marquez is a pure boxer, technical minded. And he's smart enough to not engage with a guy who can brawl.

Pacquaio though isn't a pure boxer and doesn't mind to engage/brawl, even if it's reckless. Ruslan vs. Pacquaio would seem better than a Marquez fight.

I think a rematch would Bradley would be way different. Bradley would box 100% of the way.

Yes Marquez is a good boxer. But he is NOT good enough on his feet to keep Ruslan off of him. That's why Ruslan vs Marquez would be a war.

They are friends and have the same trainer for starters but I actually got the impression from Ruslan that he felt he would hurt Pac if they fought. There was an interview after a boxing match and it was the way he talked about it that made me believe he had hurt Pac in sparring or something. I forgot exactly what he said but it was like "We are good friends and I do not think a fight between him and me would be the best thing right now"

This was after the KO loss to JMM though so it could just have been out of general concern for Pac at that time. I've also read an article of Roach saying that Pac messed Ruslan's face up pretty bad in sparring and he said he had to get special headgear for Ruslan dude to the fact that his skin is so light and he marks so easily.

I know. I was just referring to who I was quoting when he pretty much said "I'm ok when a fighter avoids fighting another fighter when he knows he'd lose". I don't think any fighter should have the mentality of being certain of a loss when going into a fight.
