Some time must pass before he's truly appreciated. Right now, we remember the way past prime DLH getting wrecked by Pac. He was much better than people give him credit for right now. I think it's ironic that Mayweather apologists are the ones who bash him because they're mimicking Floyd. Because, if a tired DLH was competitive with May, a prime version would have likely beat him.

He should have official wins over Mosley and Trinidad and beat Quartey in his prime, even if some have it the other way. Oscar was a very good fighter and beat good fighters

Everybody fights fighters past their prime, it is impossible to fight everyone at their peak prime

I agree with both posts above. Although not a fan of his, there Is no question that he was an ATG.

It seems like a lifetime ago when ODH was the king of boxing, I remember him coming out of the games when an ODH fight brought out the fine ladies and the celebrities.

I remember most Mexican men did not like ODH when he was early in his campaign fighting other Mexicans (Chavez in particular)

But as soon as he rose in weight and started fighting other races ALL the Mexicans loved him.

Hard to believe his star has faded so fast.

Great fighter but IMO not an ATG.

            He's all time great.

Defeated over 15 world champions in 6 divisions. Not just anyone can accomplish stuff like that. Even in this day of gimme belts.

Mexicans & PRs can't even win belts in more than 3.

ATG no doubt, seriously, Whitaker still fought on for year and was highly competitive at 147 after he got beat by Oscar, in fact, when DLH beat him, sweet pea was quite possibly the best 147 pounder on the planet. Chavez was almost a shadow of himself but still a decent win, then you have what should have been wins against Tito and Mosley, add to that 6 division champ, seriously, how is this guy even questioned?

He fought all comers and was a class act throughout. Boxing misses someone like him in today's sport.

Elite fighter no doubt, but vastly overrated in my opinion. Came up short many times when faced with top opposition.
