    switching stance

is it just me or do you also think that in modern boxing we see more ppl switching stance than in the past (say 30+ years ago).

    I mean,

If a lefty does it (pea, hagler, nunn off the top of my head), ok...

    if it's floyd... ok

    if it's roy jones... ok

    if it's oscar... "ok"

    but gatti... what the hell?!?!?

I am talking about switching stance on the outside

Yeah Damegaard should be ashamed of that. Gatti goes southpaw and starts clowning him.

      yikes.

yeah, most fighters today have the habit of switching stances cuz they think they're so damn technical.

in fact i have no probs with lefties switching, they had been doing it like forever, but there seem to be an epidemy of orthodox fighters switching stance, the most surprising example being gatti.

What's wrong with Gatti switching stances? He was setting up his left hook by going southpaw. I think anyone should do it if it gives you an advantage in a fight. It's not Gatti's fault that Damgard has no defence.

look I think you get my point: gatti is not exactly sweet pea.

if damgard has no defense, why would you need to switch to set up a right hook?

when Gatti uses his boxing skills to show you off, and outboxes from southpaw, you know you have a problem

is gatti a natural left hander, or are you referring to him switching in the damgaard fight?
