However he was still crouching at 9, which is considered down according to BBBoC rules, and did not rise until after 9 had been counted. There is no 10 count, 10 is out.

The only person at fault, and the only person to blame, is Scott himself. No robbery here, just a heavyweight dumbass.

^exactly. There is a reason why everyone jumps up at 8. I watched this live and was absolutely baffled as Scott was obviously clear headed and ready to continue, but if you are on the canvas at 9, the ref obviously thinks that you dont want to continue and stops the contest.

Agreed the Burns decision was the worst of the year by a country mile, as was the groves stoppage although i dont think it changed the outcome significantly. Bad year for us brits in officiating terms

The real issue with Chisora-Scott was that the referee moved way too quickly from 9 to out, essentially giving Scott a 9 count rather than the full 10 count. To me it looked like he clearly rushed the count when he noticed Scott starting to get up.

My favorite of the year was watching that British Ref not only save Cleverly at the end of the 3rd round, but also basically carry him back to his corner!LOL

Both great choices, but for me, Burns vs Beltran was more obvious ROTY.

            He was almost tragicomical.

I also saw it as a draw as Chavez-Vera was really close; however, the scores in favor of Jr. were out of reality. I believe that the real two fights competing for ROTY in 2013 should be without a doubt Burgos-Martinez and Beltran-Burns which additionally were title fights and unfortunately for both Burgos and Beltran no immediate rematch were ordered while in the case of Chavez-Vera there is going to be an immediate rematch. At least Chavez Jr. was not coward enough to avoid a rematch and/or he is confident that he can do better in a second fight.

Beltran got screwed so hard. Hopefully he gets his rightful chance at the Burns-Crawford winner.

I honestly don't think Chavez/Vera was a robbery. I can see how that fight would be scored for Chavez. It surprised me that no one else thought so.

I think people got caught up in Vera's underdog role and let their dislike of Chavez Jr and the way he conducted himself in the build up to the fight cloud their judgement when watching the fight. The fact that people actually gave Vera the last round, one in which he did absolutely nothing in, merely supports this notion for me.

The two absolute worst decisions I've seen rendered this year were in the Burgos-Martinez and Usmanee-Barthelemy fights. At least you can make a credible argument that Burns did enough to win five rounds. Most have probably forgotten/ignorant of the Usmanee-Barthelemy fight.

I'm actually surprised that Scott was ahead on the scorecards at the time against Chisora. I didn't see anything from him that warranted such a lead. He had a pretty good round in the fifth and spent he previous four initiating more clinches than he was punches.

Malik Scott's draw against the Russian was definitely robbery of the year. I had him winning that fight 100-90. I honestly thought Burgos Martinez and Cunningham Adamek were close enough to not be robberies, however I felt Malinaggi beat Broner by a wide margin of 117-111

British refs are so full of ****. It manages that full circle of being so sad it's funny.
