Lampley Keeps Telling His Audience We Mock Rigo And Don't Want To See Him

So far 71.15% of voters in the poll want to keep seeing Rigo. And only 28.85% don't.
Lampley is obviously wrong.
But I'm no longer surprised whenever he says ridiculous things to tow the company line. In the same show he has GGG ranked in the top 5 p4p ahead of guys like JMM...so it's obvious that he is trying hard to be a shill and promote HBO's perceived superstar fighters.
It's as biased and transparent as when Ring Magazine had Broner in the top 10 p4p.
His last fight went from ~3000 fans during the Kirkland fight to ~700. 77% of fans at the arena didn't want to see him and they were already there!
Nobody wants to see him, I mean he just the record for worst ratings ever and yet his fans are arguing people wanna see him? It's like khan fans saying he has a good chin, pure delusionComment

The only people who don't like Rigo are:
- UFC Fans
- Casual Fans
- Fans of a boxer he beat very easy and humiliating.
- HBO admins does not like Rigo style for not attracting casual fans (majority)
Myself I love watching this guy fight. Remember Iron Boy Calderon in his prime?
IT is a feast of technical superiority.
I think TV networks, at least Showtime, is rewarding excitement as well. When you see a fight like a Rignodeaux or a Gamboa - they don't have very crowd pleasing styles. And I think as a result it makes them much more difficulty to sell, and it has nothing to do with promoting.Comment

Maybe it's because the vote is in a boxing forum?

Not really. It's not the exact opposite even a lot of hardcore fans like myself don't really have interest in seeing him fight. It's boring...plain and simple. I admire what he does, think he's highly skilled...that said though I don't care to watch it. Rigo doesn't entertain with his skills...he fights scared for the most part and that's the one thing I dislike. You can lump all the "slick" fighters together but most of them take chances when they severely outclass their opponents...they do something, anything. Rigo doesn't do that. He's happy to play amateur and coast non stop. I don't really have an interest in watching him fight at least in a main event. Throw him as a starter fight on the undercard maybe I'll leave the tv on but don't hinge the entire event on him headlining...it's not pleasant.Comment

Also 200k+ people turned the channel after that fight...that says more than the people who left the arena. 200,000 people who were watching the event were like oh Rigo's on? No thanks. You can try to skew it one way or another but the fact remains a lot left the arena, and a lot changed the channel...didn't know Tapia was such a national cash cow.Comment

Fans leave the arena in droves when Rigo stinks it out, they change the channel when he comes on, he sets the record for lowest rated boxing program on HBO for the year and one of the worst ratings in history…
…and "slick boxing" fans think a 80/30 split of 110 votes on a boxing forum means people want to see him fight. I regularly wonder if these morons could get any dumber, and I'm regularly shocked at new nonsense they come out with that proves that in fact, they ARE getting ******er.Comment

Let the man do what he does best. Lampley needs to stop running his mouth. If you don't like him don't watch him as posters have mentioned above. Guy has to support his family and boxing is all he has.Comment

Then he shouldn't be buying a Bentley or whatever with his Donaire purse. And he should try to please the network a little, since they're footing the bill. If the viewers are tuning out, the network is not gonna be happy, and he sits out. Really the way forward is for him to take a smaller, but still good purse, on an undercard. But so far he hasn't been very interested in that.Comment
