He is a good solid fighter..but why do ya'll think he is some kingpin to demand everything from the lineal MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION? like Martinez can not demand anything??? all he wants his his damn name first like a champion should. Lets be real Cotto hasnt done jack**** in damn near 2 years...his last big win was against a 1 eyed Margo and then he lost 2 fights in a row then beat some random dude named Rodriquez....he has no title,is not p4p..Martinez is the lineal champ and top 5 p4p...Cotto needs him period

While I agree, cottos name headlining it in nyc MSG is a better marketing strategy. Although cotto is the challenger he's also the A - side to this match up.

Why you so mad bro? Cotto does not need Martinez, its the other way around. Its common sense Cotto has more pull than Sergio. What's the big deal, a great fight is being set up.

Plus it's really hard to give Cotto any credit for this fight if he wins. It seems like this is the norm these days is to catch the champ while he is old and rusty and then duck some of the best fighters. This reminds me of Hatton beating Tszyu although Cotto is a little past his sell by date compared to what Hatton was. The fact that Martinez is injured and almost got KO'd by Chavez Jr is the only reason why I give cotto a little bit of a chance. Does anybody in their right mind think the Martinez that beat Pavlik and KOd the Punisher would lose to any version of Cotto?
