Comments Thread For: Chudinov vs. Mayorga Being Targeted For April Date?

According to Russian promoter Vladimir Hryunov, he already initiated the negotiations process to discuss the possibility of matching former two-division champion Ricardo Mayorga (29-8-1, 23 KOs) against WBA interim-middleweight beltholder Chudinov (12-0-2, 8 KOs). Hryunov wants to stage the fight on a date in April in Moscow, Russia. Mayorga has not been seen in a boxing ring since giving a tough fight to Miguel Cotto in March of 2011. Cotto stopped him in the twelfth round. Mayorga then began a career in Mixed Martial Arts and went 0-3-1 before walking away from MMA a few weeks ago.

Don King had mentioned Mayorga going over to fight Chudinov before now his experiment is over so this could happen, hopefully there are camera crews aplenty for Mayorga's Russian Experience.

Good to have mayorga back in boxing, but i doubt he makes much of an impact..

He will probably be used to build younger guys or tune-ups for big names..

                What do we have here?
Former world champion Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga announced after his recent loss in MMA that he will return to boxing. The details of his return are currently unclear but March of 2014 is the scheduled month to host his return. Mayorga's promoter Ivaylo Gotzev of Bulgaria does not currently have the opponent or the location
