I wish he would have fought Canelo but Martinez is OK. I just don't think it's a good idea for Cotto to fight @160.

I think cotto is the tune up...maybe martinez will be able to entice mayweather to fight him if he (deliberately) looks vulnerable in this one

btw...isn't it weird arum said both parties were close to a deal 6 days ago, see: http://www.boxingscene.com/arum-cott...-canelo--72888

...and cotto's adviser is now telling us negotiations are in a preliminary stage

I wish Martinez the best and hope that they don't rush or pressure him into anything so he may have a fair chance to defend the title he worked so hard to earn.
Yeah but maybe this time off will benefit Martinez, plus Cotto is coming up in weight, I rather have Cotto win the title then some unknown journeyman.

Why doesn't Mayflowers follow the pattern of Miguel and fight real fighters. Miguel is going after one of the best in the world Martinez and gayflowers goes after a nobody like Khan or an inexperience Alvarez???? BS

For me, I see it's definitely martinez. Cotto is at the point in his career he's not going to fight for peanuts anymore. he wants big money or the titles. fighting kirkland does nothing for his legacy.
