Did you not watch the fight from saturday? Putting his punches together are not the problem bud. Timing, reflexes, stamina and chin are what keeps the current Jones from being relevant. He still has faster hands than 95% of the fighters today and can still throw sharp, hard shots. That's apparent.Comment

agree.
a 60 year old jones would still beat silva in a boxing match. the longer it goes, the better. world class boxers can slow the pace, get into a rhythm, and pick any mma guy apart.

silva has also slowed down considerably since this fight. he moves well on his toes, but look how quickly he has to get off of his toes. boxing is just a totally different animal.Comment

jones doesn't need that money. silva himself usually makes less than a million per fight. under 300 k for sonnen. 600k for wideman. get this: wideman made 50 grand, and that included a 25K bonus to win. his garantee was 25 grand.
jones' HBO commentary gets him more than 99.9something percent of all MMA fighters will earn in a year.
he doesn't need that money. MMA fighters are paid like sh#t.Comment

your use of english sucks, so i'm really not even sure what you're trying to say.
james toney very obviously needs money. his financial problems are well documented. roy jones does not. his financial success is well documented. he also makes six figures working for HBO.
the UFC does not pay well. here's a breakdown of the purses of silva - wideman. 1.6 million in total purses. the undercard of mayweather's last ppv paid much more than that.
UFC 162 is in the books and payouts and salaries are in the checkbooks. Here’s a complete list of last Saturday night’s earnings for all the fighters competing at the “Silva vs. Weidman” pay-per-view (PPV) event in Las Vegas.
wideman got a 25 thousand dollar guarantee, and another 25K if he won. that's f#cking peanuts. james toney was the highest paid fighter on the card when he fought in the UFC, and he only made 500K. that's peanuts compared to what he made in boxing.Comment
