loyalty over legacy: Provo and GBP/Showtime

Provo is a pretty loyal guy... has said before that he'd stick with HBO due to the shot they gave him and their continued support of him... but there's nothing tying him down other than the option Arum has on him.

He could technically work with GBP and Showtime.

Ruslan Provodnikov’s world title win over Mike Alvarado on Saturday night opens up plenty of doors for him, making him a more marketable name at junior welterweight (the division in which he won his title), as well as at welterweight (the division at which he went to war with Timothy Bradley earlier this year). Yet the Banner Promotions fighter shouldn’t be expected to appear on Showtime against Golden Boy’s crop of 140- and 147-pound stars, according to Banner’s Artie Pelullo. “Right now we’re fighting with HBO and only HBO,” Pelullo told BoxingScene.com after Provodnikov’s victory. “That’s what we choose to do. We’re dedicated to HBO. HBO gave us a chance.”

Now...where do we go from here?

Let's be honest here.... Do people really think Showtime/GoldenBoy would offer Provonikov a fight versus any of their fighters? They weren't even interested in Hopkins-Kovalev when Kovalev was his mandatory. Someone answer this for me.... When is the last time showtime/GBP had one of their fighters make a VOLUNTARY title defense against any NON-GBP fighter who had a pulse? The last I can remember was Pirog-Jacobs (when HBO was basically today's showtime) and look what happened with that.... Pirog got shunned

I hope they would prove me wrong, but I don't see it happening.... Thinking GBP would offer Provodnikov a fight with any of their fighters is absolutely wishful thinking x10000

I think GBP can work with Top rank But they will never work with HBO until there is someone new In charge...

Showtime will cut GBP alot of checks to keep fighters on Showtime and not HBO!!! Showtime Pockets is Deeper than HBO because CBS owns them!!!

Whoever came up with GBP and Al Haymon will Stick to Showtime...
And I see fighters like Bradley. Ward, Even Rios signing with GBP in the future...
      Too much money over there.

HBO can win tho if they start locking up their Star like the Contract Floyd got with Showtime....

HBO should just start giving fighters like Ward,Pac and Bradley 4-6 fight Deals in the 15-20 million range with PPV upside!!
