Comments Thread For: Nietes vs. Fuentes Rematch Will Land in Mexico

In March of this year, Moises Fuentes traveled over to Cebu City in the Philippines to challenge WBO junior flyweight champion Donnie Nietes (32-1-4, 18KOs) at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino. The very competitive fight ended in a twelve round majority draw. The World Boxing Organization has now ordered a rematch between the two boxers.

Fuentes (19-1-1, 10KOs) says the rematch is going to take place in Mexico, based on what he was told by his promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions. A March date is possible for the contest.

Many believes Fuentes had won on their first encounter yet next story is most otfen than not, is a very different story. Indeed, Nietes had bad night on that night of their first figh but this is not unusual to boxers and I will expect him to come-out as what he usually he did on their next fight, esp. that he will be fighting on his opponent backyard this time. The pressure is on him!

Donnie has fought/won in MX 3/4 times b4 but his run ends...he was lucky 2 escape w/the draw last time but his skills have eroded slightly & w/WBO officials, xpect him 2 lose...
