Yeah i hate going to bars to watch fights. I usually end up doing it, but there's always that one guy who has to comment on everything. Some guy who usually doesn't know anything about the sport whispering in you're ear all night. Can't stand that, however i will be going to a fight party for mayweather pacquiao.I won't be ordering this alone for 100 bucks, but...I don't mind watching fights alone. I don't think I'm unique in this as I'm sure others would share my view, I sometimes prefer my silence during meaningful fights. I hone in. I just can't be bothered with noise. I need to see and hear everything. Going to a bar to watch a fight sounds more like a social gathering than a gathering of people that actually care about the fight.
I don't so much dislike a loud, energetic environment, on the contrary it's cool, but boxing is an art and art can be well-appreciated in silence. Have you ever been to a loud fine arts museum? On that note, I'd love to watch a boxing event among a Japanese crowd.Comment

I have a love/hate relationship with watching it with groups. It's great when it's a KO or one-sided. But when it's a controversial decision...blech. Then you have to go back and watch the fight all alone. God forbid you saw it one way initially and we're going gung-ho on NSB only to have to come back a week later singing a different tune.Comment

Agree...If this one happens, I will probably watch with a group since its such an event...I have heard from multiple people who never watch boxing that they are having a fight night party for the fight...guys that stopped watching boxing and get all the ufc fights are having a party for it etc....so will probably save a few bucks and attend one..Comment
