Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Manny Pacquiao Master Discussion Thread

Floyd usually wins every fight mentally before it even starts but after all these years of people calling him out about Pacquiao i think the subject has gotten under his skin? that could be a factor going into it if the fight does happen.
I am a TMT and TBE supporter but i cant help but to think this. I still favor Floyd to win it though

OK, no problem .... As much as I hope that you are right about Maidana, I go by history. Maidana does have an awkard punching style that gave Broner problems but we have also seen opponents able to neutralize Maidana's offense.
Being that Floyd has better defense than those that were able to neutralize Maidana, I don't give Maidana much of a chance.
Floyd is like a 15-1 favorite. If you really believe in Maidana, then this is the best time to show how much you really believe in what you are saying.
I'm sure in 6 days from now, your opinion will change.Comment

It will be my first time betting against Floyd since the DLH fight, I will eat my crow if I am wrong but win or lose I expect Floyd to be in a war.OK, no problem .... Question:
How is Maidana going to get past Floyd's defense when he couldn't even get past someone like Devon?
If you say that Devon used illegal tactics, I would agree but someone like Floyd has a lot more tricks up his sleeve and will use them all if he has to.Comment

This fight will be a tale of two fighters having to adapt to each other until a stoppage or the last bell. Floyds demise will be he will be willing to sit inside and rely on his reflexes and blocking for defense and not as much with his legs, he will still use the ring to his advantage but Maidana is quick on his feet and can close the distance and is working on cutting off the ring. Floyd is crafty and elusive but Maidana is relentless and unpredictable and it will be difficult for Floyd to figure him out because Maidana has good combinations, feints, and traps. Floyd will realize Maidana is faster and a better boxer than he expected and it only takes a series of jabs or a feint and a manuever low to close the distance a few feet and if Maidana is within range you can bet he is going to throw sledgehammers and mix it up.
He will also be working to the body and Maidana is used to both being in wars, and getting hit, but he also has underrated defense, so Floyd is going to tag him up, but he will slip a few, block a few, and if he slips and blocks shots coming in, it can be the difference because you can bet one thing: Floyd may (and I believe he does) have a great chin, but it doesn't matter, Maidana puts people in ambulances with both hands.
regrarding Devon, I think Devon loses a rematch in a bad way right now. Maidana was out of shape, it was his first fight at this weight, and this was pre Garcia. And Devon was holding the whole fight. Who can throw punches when your arms are being held?Last edited by LoadedWraps; 04-27-2014, 10:53 PM.Comment
