More with his reach than with clinching imo.

if pacquiao's offense gets nullified, it will be from a threat of counterpunch most likely. pacquiao seems like if he get clinched, he will not expend too much energy trying to fight out of it, he will clinch as well and wait for the break.

If Floyd doesn't make Manny gun shy, I don't see how he wins this fight.

Floyd has lowered the punch output of all his opponents through movement and countering more than grabbing and clinching. Based on his performance in madaina2, you make a valid point.

Floyd is not an excessive clincher (Maidana 2 might be the first time I've actually noticed him clinching). If he nullifies Manny's offense it will be with the jab or the lead right. He throws it multiple ways. Sometimes he loops it, someone straight, sometimes the jab to the pit of the gut. It's confusing and frustrating.

Mayweather needs to get this fight signed.

Floyd will take a few step backs and lean his head back as far as he can, but i don't expect him to do a lot of unnecessary movements like Algeiri or Bradley did. He won't stay too close to Manny, but he won't move far away from him either. Floyd will look to counter Manny whenever Manny gets off balance after he throws the lead straight left hand. Floyd will gauges the distance better than those guys did. Unlike Bradley and Algeiri, Floyd will set up his counter attacks in a more unpredictable way. He will move in behind the high guard stance at times just to nullify Manny's straight left hand and fire off with his own lead straight right upstairs or downstairs.

Manny needs space to operate just like Floyd does, but he's still dangerous when you crowd his range and just wildly swings for the fences against him, but Floyd doesn't waste punches. He wants to make every punch counts and knows where to place his punches. You'll hear Floyd Sr saying "up and down" in almost every rounds. He'll want Floyd to mixes up his attacks and capitalize on Manny's off balance movements. If you can carefully crowd Manny's range, you can quickly exploit one of his weaknesses as a limited inside fighter and do some good work on the inside or when you take his range away on the outside. Clottey did some good work behind the high guard, but he fought like a one-trick pony and Manny just outscored him with a lot of punches that barely landed.

Floyd will need watch out for Manny's bread and butter combo. Feint, right jab, straight left, and right jab to finish it off. Sometimes he finishes it off with a right hook that had stunned both Marquez(IV) and Margarito. Floyd will have to be alert for the dangerous combo and will have to figure out a way to offset it.

I think this is the only legitimate reason why the fight isn't happening.
