Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Manny Pacquiao Master Discussion Thread

In Floyd's defense, he didn't have his entourage around him for Pacquiao. He had them for crazy people who may try him in public. He's a flashy guy who flaunts his money, ***elry and nice things which makes him a target for groupies, robbers, etc. It's smart on his part to keep a security team when if someone tries him, if he were to fight them he'd do serious time. But the security wasn't for Pacquiao. And Pac doesn't carry himself like Floyd so he doesn't need it as much, but I'm sure he has a bodyguard just for the safety of him and his family.Comment

HBO said the same thing, indicating the issues are between the fighter's camps.
“We are not an impediment to this fight,” read a statement from HBO, in response. “We stand ready to go. The principals need to agree to terms and come to a deal.”Comment

Honestly though its hard to say what's really going on. Anyone's guess is as good as any.Comment

One official asked of @HBOboxing statement how they can be ready to go and not an impediment if agreement with @SHOsports not done yet.

Pugmire's personal take on HBO's statement
Not buying HBO rhetoric that all issues go away if @FloydMayweather signs deal, but not convinced @SHOsports will reject Cotto/Khan either.

Agree, only thing I like about these negotiations is that Moonves is involved. Maybe he won't be able to make it happen but they can't go any higher.Comment

I agree. I dont really trust Espinoza all that much and Moonves has no reason to protect Mayweather, so he can cut through any BS Espinoza-Mayweather may want to pull off.Comment
