Well when a fighter earns that much over his gt, the fight is extremely successful. In a normal circumstance that would mean the promoter made a killing. See a promoter of a ppv fight doesn't necessarily get 33%. The promoter makes the real money when the fight goes over the fighters gts. So a fighter with a promoter tries to make the gts as high as possible. The gts work to the fighters benefit, because the promoter does not get a cut of the gts. Mayweather gets it all tho, well besides the flat fee to GB.
In my opinion an unsuccessful fight would be one that loses money, which 3 out of the 4 showtime bouts have done. I mean they looked at mayweather's last two bouts. Ortiz (1.25) and Cotto (1.5), and obviously thought he could carry that trend. Let me add Mosley as well (1.4) and marquez(1.1).Last edited by Flash13; 01-30-2015, 09:59 PM.Comment

If you bought that plane ticket to Vegas, you are probably slightly worried now. TMZ broke the news that it was a done deal between Mayweather and Pacquiao and almost immediately it was denied by Showtime and members of the media. TMZ usually has good sources. This time, not so much. "@Woodsy1069: http://t.co/gFOQB06ogq" — Stephen […]Comment

Think about it this way
How does it serve Espinoza positively to tweet that the rumors are false. these execs don't entertain false rumors..they almost always ignore them out of hand.
He's keeping the hype train in suspense..I'm sure of itComment

No... they wont break even on this deal no way. But if the pacman fight comes off like everyone supposes it will (the world watching/$$$). I think they will be satisfied with the deal. They got a ton of exposure, and were involved in the top 2 money fights of all time, so in that aspect yes.Didn't know about the ceiling but surely with Manny in the pipeline plus a fair well fight that's going to be contract fulfilled when you crunch all the numbers up? I don't think he's a liability to Showtime however you look at it to be honest.
Outside of Floyd, they do have their problems with Haymon's under hand tactics despite Espinoza saying he was well informed. Hopefully this upcoming fight is a catalyst for getting everybody talking and doing business.Comment

Guerrero 870k buys @ 60 = 52.2 million / 2 = 26.1 million + gate (i know they don't get it all, but for argument sake i'm saying they did) = 35 million
The purses for the bout were 36 million gtd. That's not even including advertising (tours, commercials, May day promo (i heard it was A LOT))Comment
