Their should be absolutely no reason why it shouldent be Maidana in May, Win or lose the Broner Rematch will always be there and will always sell but the Maidana vs Mayweather fight can get no hotter then the buzz is right now it can only die down.

As far as the idea of who deserves the fight I that is fairly irrelevant. Mayweather "management" seeks out fights with the highest upside and lowest risk. Maidana's stock will never be higher than it is today. He is now a champion with a high profile win. (Not a high quality win). Casual fans will eat up the idea of Mayweather seeking revenge against the guy who beat up "little brother". The story line pretty much writes itself.

Mayweather will not lose to any 147 fighters, and at 154 he only goes their for the biggest ppv Oscar, Cotto, Canelo he wont be moving up there for a dude who has 3 fans in lara.

Mayweather is in this position where he just better then all 147/140 pounders and I dont say that to give him praise I say that to be-little all these other fighters.

This point in his career he riding out to the sunset, and he should feel blessed that Maidana pulled off this victory cause this PPV here with Madiana can possibly outsell his last 3 fights at ppv. Who else is there that Mayweather hasnt fight that has remotely any hype behind him that Madiana has?

Maidana is the Legit fight for him, the more profitable fight for him, and the most fan friendly fight out there for him. and above all its high reward low risk for Mayweather. Should be a clear cut decisions for Mayweather.

As for Pacquaio? Its not about "deserving a payday". But rather the FANS deserve to see two the of the best fighters of this era fight each other.

Sure we deserved it (4) years ago. But right now? why would fans actually want to see this fight? It'll cost more than any other ppv in history and totally not be worth it. Ship has sailed, fights a dud and the powers that be would win and all fans would lose.

And that's the thing. To avoid that mess, Floyd can fight Lara and be done with it. Maidana statistically deserves it, Khan nor Pacman do. But Maidana should lose the fight and we all know it.

People bring up how much the fight would sell should Floyd fight this guy or that. But the fact is the fight will sell period. If Floyd fought Lara, nothing else could be criticized.

Fans shouldn't care about the payday, Maidana is already a millionaire (multi-million in Argentina), fans should push for the fights they want to see.

first off, let me make this very clear...i don't give a flying fuck what you pacquiao and mauweather fanboys think.

Maidana deserves the mayweather payday, not khan as the flomos would want, just so floyd can finally have a legit ko on his record, and specially not pacquiao, as pactards would want it now that arum gots no stars and their hero is broke and desperate.

Maidana has put on great, entertaining fights for us and gotten rid of the overhyped, trash talking mayweather wannabe, bum in broner. Maidana beat him fair and square, very convincingly...no need for a rematch.

I hope maidana lands that mayweather fight, he deserves it!
