Hatton to face Baldomir and/or Cotto

    From fightn#w$.com:

The tabloids in the U.K. are having a field day speculating on IBF/WBA jr welterweight champion Ricky Hatton's next opponent. The current reports have Hatton stepping up to welterweight to challenge WBC champ Carlos Baldomir on May 13 at Foxwoods. Another tab is reporting that Hatton "is set" to face WBO jr welter champ Miguel Cotto June 10 at Madison Square Garden. The "Hitman" has also been rumored to be facing IBF mandatory Naoufel Ben Rabah or Acelino

The latest breaking UK, US, world, business and sport news from The Times and The Sunday Times. Go beyond today's headlines with in-depth analysis and comment.

At least the Baldomir fight appears to be a done deal, hopefully the Cotto fight will also be signed for June.

It's a done deal fo Baldomir according to the daily mirror, its a logical move, Hatton will win and hold belts in two divisions and Mayweather will have to fight him to prove he is the best.

The Baldomir fight would be the best scenario for fans. It sets up Hatton-Mayweather beautifully if both win, which they should.

Wow, if Hatton beats Baldomir he's the recognized champ through lineage over two weight divisions- when is the last time we've seen that?
