    Not a lot of boxers know when its time to retire its good thing this guy is. He won't be missed though.

      I agree with the article's author and many others since John was always a sort of "irrelevant" champion with many of his fights happening in Asia (mainly in his native country) against many unknown fighters and even against the few important names who Chris fought he wasn't very convincing (against Marquez he received the benefit of a home decision and he struggled a lot in the first fight against "Baby Bull"). John never tried to unify titles and he also had two fights that were stopped very early by head clashes and those draws were accounted as "successful defenses". John could have looked for the big fights beyond his domains but he didn't want to leave his comfort zone to take on bigger challenges. The price John is paying now is that he won't missed much outside his land. I don't believe many would vote for him to get into the HOF.
