Puerto Rican Olympian Felix Verdejo (9-0, 6 KOs) has an opponent for his next fight. He will face another undefeated prospect, Lauro Alcantar (8-0, 1 KO) of Mexico. The fight will be part of the Mike Garcia-Juan Carlos Burgos undercard on January 25th from the Theater in New York's Madison Square Garden. Verdejo turned pro in December 2012 and fought eight times in 2013. He hopes to stay just as busy in 2014.

Looking forward to watching Verdejo in action again, great prospect. I believe he is the next big PR boxing star. The guy has impressive movement, ninja like sneak attacks; he has a lot of potential.

Hoping so. Not a Puerto Rican but I'd like see another star emerge from there to reenergize that great fanbase.

Same man. PR boxing seems to be at an all time low right now. I want to see that PR-Mexico rivalry again.

Lomachenko vs Verdejo in a few years. Rematch of the 2012 Olympic games. I can see this being Top Rank's target.

                good posts!

Verdejo was by Lomachenko's own admissions his toughest amateur fight so I can definitely see this match up as well...as they say kids has good signs on him...
