This is a no go for GB for obvious reasons.

Moreno is actually the guy I'd most like to see

But Kiko fights Mathebula this weekend whoever wins has the IBF belt , completely different ways of going about their business either would be interesting.

if you want to take the "greed" out of boxing, you destroy it.

So many great fights that will never happen due to those greedy bastards.

I like this concept from ESPN: 12 days of Christmas wish list. So far they have Rigo/Santa Cruz and Estrada/Gonzalez II. I have been patiently waiting for a Estrada/Gonzalez rematch (I think it's the better matchup out of the 2). It's also more likely to happen.

Be that as it may, if Rigo goes over to Golden Boy after his next fight (when his run with Top Rank is complete), a fight with Santa Cruz becomes more difficult to prevent. The fans will want for it, and so will Leo. Of course, "El Chacal's" limited fanbase is a non-factor, but Santa Cruz's supporters will want to see him tested against the best. Leo will probably press for it, and GBP might very well give in.

Rigo should go to GBP, seems like he could get better fights there

At this point, I think it's a better option. I'm real curious to see what Arum does when the contract is up. After all the negative talk about his own fighter, it would be interesting to see if he tries to re-sign Rigondeaux. I wouldn't doubt it, if only to keep Guillermo away from his arch rivals. These guys can get petty.

i think rigo plans on having two more fights at 122 before moving up to 126...obviously it'll be hard to make rigo vs santa cruz but he could still fight the winner of kiko martinez vs mathebula (kiko defending his IBF belt) and someone like carl frampton afterwards...those are two good fights for him..

Rigo may not have fans...but he's got more exposure than the other 122ers GB would matchup with LSC so i could see them figuring out a way to get them in the ring as it would garner the biggest licensing fee for either fighter.

its not easily nor a given that it could be done. im saying its the most doable out of all the cold war matchups.

I'm not sure what makes you think that. Rigo seems adamant about not moving up to 126. The closest he's willing to go is a catchweight against the right fighter. I've supported Guillermo on his decision many times. He's a very small man. Even 122 is pushing the limitations of his body. Rigo is probably a natural 118 fighter.

Rigo wants the IBF and WBC belts before he moves up. If Frampton can knock off Santa Cruz it will be doable.

Rigo/Santa Cruz would be a great fight but I'm not counting on it ever happening. But I'll take Moreno/Santa Cruz as a good alternative.
