Lopez was tailor made for Maidana and to a certain extent Broner who was incredibly overrated and not long been at 147.

Looking at who they beat, then Mayweather Snr deserves it the way he transformed Mayweather. Canelo and Guererro were/are top fighters.

Mikey has skills but largely due to his father.

Maidana and Gradovich win by using their will and heart generally. That's not training.
    Real talk right here.

Also in reference to some of the other candidates: a trainer of the year should have success with more than one fighter so we can tell it isn't just a gifted boxer.

I've been really impressed with what roach did with provodnikov this year, his other fighters not so much- expected results.

Garcia for me. Just the way he took a diamond in the rough like Chino and made him the fighter he was against Broner in such a short amount of time deserves alot of praise. Then throw in his other victories with other fighters its a wide dec for Garcia

Grandpa easily, although two of his fighters did suffer embarrassing losses.

Robert Garcia looks like the front runner for this award. I think Mayweather Sr and Angel Garcia had good years as well but Garcia has more fighters. As a result, he has more big wins.

Nacho deserves a mention as well. Jhonny Gonzalez beating Mares is one of the biggest wins/upsets of the year. I'm just not sure who all of his other fighters are.

Robert Garcia "We won every round so far, this is the last round, go for the KO even though he hurt you in the 11th and you went to see a doctor"

How many times will this work?

Robert "Do this for your family, for your baby at home, this will change your ****ing life ese"

"Use your jab and then punch him"

                      Thing is, he hasn't changed!

Maidana uses his jab and has always been awkward, gone to the body, had his strong hooks. Watch him from Kotelnik, Khan, Ortiz etc... AND ALEXANDER. He has been the same but faced guys suited to him. Put him with a fast mover again like Alexander and he will look like a bum. Watch 2014.

Who he has faced since Alexander have been slow ass brawler boxers.

Lopez is a boxing brawler who moved up in weight. He looks to be a gate keeper at best
Soto Karass moved up in weight and isn't that good anyway.
Broner is a young, overhyped fighter! Who sets his feet.

Anyone who does not utilise movement will not beat Maidana if they are good.
