    Maidana athlete of the year in Argentina

    They just gave to Chino the prize "Olimpia de Oro" which is given to the best athlete of the year from Argentina among all sports. In 2012 Sergio Martinez won the same prize.

                              Yeah, I figured Argentina would pick a soccer player, since that's what they're known for.

                                      Messi won it in 2011. They try to give it to athletes of different sports, not just the most popular sport (which is soccer in Argentina). Otherwise soccer players would win it every year.
