i agree man. i go to university of new hampshire, and i cant find a single person who can name me a current boxer. hell, im usually hard pressed to find someone who knows a name other than ali or tyson.

Boxing is the best sport!!!! So deep, so entertaining to watch, and the boxers are just insane and deserve MUCH respect fo what they do. The ****in b-ball playes, baseball playas earnin millions doin eazy shyt. I do what they do when I was a lil boi. UNDESERVING turds!

i personally get **** for being into it. a lot of people think its just some fake macho-man bull****, like i watch it just for the sake of being able to say i like combat sports. ive gotten a few naysayers to throw on the 16 oz'ers with me and handed em down a lesson.

**** tha. It feels good in the inside knowin that most of these people think basketball and football are the best sports. I just laugh on the inside knowin what I konow which is BOXING. Basketball is pretty wack when I think bout it and I been playin since I was 5 yr old. That shyt is ovarated. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

If people don't understand boxing and don't want to understand it than **** them! We don't need them, we all know that boxing is the best sport in the world, we all know the training, courage, commitment, dedication, and resolve that are boxing heros put forth, so I say let the ignorant stay that way. Let those tennis, soccer, basketball,football or golf fans have their mainstream sports, we can have the best sport ever all to ourselves.

i agree with everyone here. All other sports that people think are tough really arent. Boxing is the roughest sport next to Thai boxing which is basically the same. Ive had people tell me soccer is a rough sport, and i laugh in their face. Honestly though, nobody can tell me for one second running around kicking a ball or bouncin a ball and shooting it in a hoop is a rough sport. Sure it takes a lot of stamina, but thats about it. Boxing takes stamina, heart, strength, speed, and all different kinds of mind and body attributes, but everyone on this forum knows that. I love boxing with all of my heart and it sickens me to see the lack of respect boxers get from the commoners. We boxers are a unique breed, not many people can relate to us indeed.

(football is a pretty rough sport too but boxing blows it out of the water)

I am working on my masters thesis( Even though I have not started my masters program yet) I teach History and Health by the way it is titled "Boxing Americas First Unifying Culture" the war for independance began in 1776 this was the first true modern war of throwing of vassalage that was successful and truely so and you have others that of Simon Bulivar sorry SP in Venezuala also successful and mexico form spain an such all over the world but in america you had somthing extrodinary at the turn of the 20th century. It had nothing to do with God the Wheels of Industry or power. It had everyhting to do with what makes man, human, depicts the human conditon in every way imaginable. Boxing defeid social class, econimic class and most importantly geography. A person did not have to be rich or white or even from Salt Lake to city love and pray for Jack Dempsey or a Ali or a Leonard. These men were to even good Christens almost on par with Crist to many, because boxing is not a sport it is a prosonification of the human condition because and this is a main factor, not other compotionion of men has invoked the prayer of the masses the dovotian and love and need of a single person fighting with the same two things god gave Jesus, Mind, and fists, Jesus used his mind and was better for it, But many people pray for fighters and put FAITH into fighters. Let me put it this for what person living now will the entire world pay homage to than Ali, when his day comes we did not love him because he was on televeison but he was in our hearts and minds for what gods creation man could be. Ali hated no one, took nothing away from anyone, wanted the world to love itself, wanted blacks to be respected, because they were human and for no other reason. what other person in memory besides the civil rights leaders men and women have proven theirself and Mandela worthy of faith. How many of you today prayed in enest to god for the victory of your team, now how many of you pray to God when your faviorate fighter fights, because you believe in him and even win or loose that faith remains because he represents to you what it truely means to be human and alive.

sorry all that is just some of the things in my thesis in a nutshell I am drunk so thought and writing is hard. I think you all will feel what I ment in my post We are lossing part of our culture a part of what we belive in. Someboxers are greedy and selfish but you ask a Philipiono who they love most next to god and fam Manny P. You ask any Ukraninans who they believe in next to god and fam Klitschko's. You ask Germans the same thing and its Shcmeling. You ask Purto Ricans and tis Tito. You ask Mexicans and its Chaves non of these men truely changed the world but in all of them we saw what it ment to be human with all our faults and our triumphs.
