Comments Thread For: DeGale-Periban WBC World Title Eliminator in Play

As ordered by the World Boxing Council at their most recent convention in Thailand, Golden Boy Promotions is negotiating a possible fight between the first-ranked super middleweight, Marco Antonio Peribán (20-1-1, 13KOs) and James DeGale (17-1, 11KOs), ranked at third. Golden Boy VP Eric Gomez confirmed they are in talks, although there is no date or venue.

The winner would fall in line to get a crack at the current WBC super middleweight champion Sakio Bika.

Not many people seem to rate DeGale highly but, leaving Ward out of it, he's right in the mix with any of the super middles. He'll beat Periban - if the fight actually gets made.

        DeGale should outbox Periban.

Periban,DeGale and Bika all of them are garbage, even Anthony Dirrell,Chavez conditioned owns all these guys.i would much preferred to see JCCJ v DeGale ordered.Periban and Bika were awful against each other as we're Bika and Dirrell.what a sad state of affairs the SM WBC division has become.
