when asked what he thought about the Adrien Broner fight, Sr. said that he could fix what ails Broner and that he should train him.

interesting, I would like to see that, that would be the be all end all for broner, if he cant get it right with Floyd sr and co. then he really isn't built for the top level. maybe broner needs to leave the roll alone all together, I dunno if hes able to do it and get away with it, theres plenty of things he can try out and learn. the kid can get better if he starts to focus

I actually think Floyd Snr could teach Broner a lot. The whole thing is, Does Broner want to leave his trainer Michael Stafford who he's been with since he was a kid? We'll see.

Broner is better off with Virgil. The kid needs to be humble and abandon that shoulder roll.
Virgil was advising Berto to stop using it in the Karass fight, too bad the moron didn't and got sparked aka Broner Maidana

This is a great interview. Senior was a boxer so he talks a bit slow at his age, but it's all very pointed and well developed. Cool of him to be so patient and think about his answers prior to talking.
The one thing that shocked me was that Maidana keep hitting Broner coming over the top. Floyd, without a doubt, would have done something to adjust within 1-2 rounds. Broner never could avoid the shot. Senior right here mentions this and says that it would have been really easy to adjust to that. This tells me Broner needs a better corner because unlike Floyd/JMM and the like he can't think on his feet.

Broner's problem is not trainer/trainers. Broner's real problem, no pun intended, is Broner's lifestyle. To be at the top of boxing requires dedication and commitment. Floyd said it best, "dedication.....hard work". You can't be blowing up in between fights, partying and not expecting to lose something on your way down. If he was a student of the game, he would have seen and emulate the success of Floyd jr, Hopkins, Mosley, and avoid the mistakes of Hatton, Trinidad, Jones, etc. When you blow up and lose weight you become less durable, no matter how physically fit you look. You could have tell that in the Maidana fight, Broner looked weak. There was nothing on his punches, as if he was just pawing with them.

Sr is a upgrade compared to his current trainer....Broner seems like he's in charge of his corner, not his trainer....Sr can get that boy right imo....but that's just the half of it....the other half is Broner's full time commitment to the sport....I think Broner needed a wake up call like the one Chino gave him!!
