i think it comes down to his side having bargaining leverage in most of his fights.

I don't know. What's your take on Floyd fighting Canelo at 152? Despite fighting at 154 twice?

      Hmmmmmm

              Are you serious?

Are you serious with this thread? How long has it been since Manny fought a catch weight fight? He doesn't fight catch weight fights. You are talking the past and it doesn't sound right at all. His first catch-weight was against Oscar and it was Oscar who dictated those negotiations, not Manny. Against Cheeto, he got what he deserved. He is twice Manny's size and is known to purposely rehydrate to large weights over night. Against Cotto, Manny was still struggling to transition in to a full welterweight so he asked for 145lbs. He fought most of his welterweight opponents at 147lbs. Once he got comfortable with the weight and knew he wouldn't move back down, he never fought a catch weight again. A better question would have been, why did Floyd fight Alvarez at a catch weight when he is big enough to fight at the full 154lb limit like he's done before. Floyd is much bigger than Manny so what's his excuse? The reason Manny can fight bigger guys is simple. He's a special little fighter. Period. Manny and Marquez are pretty much the same size, actually Roidquez is bigger than Manny all of a sudden, but he couldn't beat a lot of fighters on Manny's roster. Neither could Maidana, or Broner, or Berto, or Khan, or Bradley. Size normally negates skill but Manny gets away with it because he has legs, blazing hand-speed, fast feet, stamina, great chin, angle punching, etc. The size advantage Rios had is why he didn't get stopped.
