Danny was scared, you cant take that back man, win or lose.
The way in which the ref. allowed Danny to go MMA while Lucas had to stick to boxing reminded me of the Maidana Broner fight. Danny landed at least 12 low blows, was allowed to wrestle at will, spat his mouth piece and had the fight stopped when in trouble and got a KD that didnt happen.
In a fair fight Danny would have very little chance, but you cant seem to expect that when GBP is protecting their investment.

i like Mathysse but the only way he would win in a rematch is a perfect punch a la Marquez vs Pac...Danny is just that much skillfuller and intelligent in the ring than Lucas...

Skillfuller is the funniest made up word I've seen lately; good one.

I think Matthyse has better chance in a rematch if he doesn't fish for the knockout blow and sets it up naturally. Part of the reason he lost the first fight.

Probably more interesting fights at 147 for Lucas at this point. A lot of action in the Golden Boy stable. If he decides to stay at 140 he'll probably get that WBC belt alright. More important that he works on being busier in fights though.

The eye injury screwed him against Danny but he could have done even more damage before that happened if he was more active in the pocket. Not the first time it's been an issue either. Take a leaf out of chino's book and let your hands go a bit more.

Matthysse doesnt deserve to get trashed on for his loss to Danny, he gave Dan the man a 12 round war and hes still a top 140 fighter. Matthysse above Broner who was scared of 140 anyday of the week.
