Canadian stars Lucian Bute (31-1, 24KOs) and Jean Pascal (28-2-1, 17KOs) are getting ready for their super-fight on January 18th at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The World Boxing Council has approved the fight as a final eliminator for WBC champion Adonis Stevenson (23-1, 20KOs), who is also from Canada.

Yvon Michel, who promotes Pascal and Stevenson, says the mandatory will not be due for at least a year because Stevenson recently made a mandatory defense against Tony Bellew of the UK.

Let Stevenson get his Payday while he still can (he is 36) Kovalev is not going anywhere and wants to fight 4 times next year. If Pascal wins then there will be no fight with Stevenson, so he can then face Kovalev (That would be his only option) If Bute wins they he would probably fight Stevenson in Montreal (It would be a huge event over there).

If you guys want Kovalev then I guess you'll be rooting for Pascal to win.

Hopkins faces Shumenov while WBC champ Adonis Stevenson fights WBO belt holder Sergey Kovalev. The winner of those two sets of fights would then square off in a finals type of fight.
