  • Comments Thread For: Leo Santa Cruz Could Return Feb. 15 on Tripleheader

Junior featherweight titleholder Leo Santa Cruz has been quite active, fighting five times in 2012 and three times in 2013. And his next appearance following his Dec. 14 decision win over Cesar Seda could come just two months later.

“He would like to fight Feb. 15, so we’re going to try to see if we can get that,” said Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions, speaking to reporters after Saturday’s card in San Antonio. “I think it’s going to be a tripleheader.”

I hope Leo Santa Cruz is going to fight Cristian Mijares or Hugo Cazares. All-Mexican fights are always wars. If Alfredo Angulo doesn't win the Canelo sweepstakes, I hope he's in the third fight. Mares, Santa Cruz and Angulo all get huge support in Los Angeles.

He will never be a champion without fight Rigo. Of course, the promoters GB and Arum doesn't want this fight, because GB don't want to lose his hyped boy and arum doesn't want to make look good Rigo. But, he will never be a champion

Against who though? I don't think it'll be someone too great with only 2 months in between.

I just want Rigondeaux and Santa Cruz to fight. A damn shame we'll never see it.
